
Community Leaders Sensitized on Gender Empowerment

A total of about fifty (50) Community Leaders including Rural Health Motivators have been sensitized on Gender Equality, ASRH issues, child safeguarding, Children's Protection and Welfare Act of 2012, SODV Act of 2018 as well as substance abuse through the Grieg Gender project, in a recently held community dialogue in collaboration with Women and Law at Mbilaneni community.
The project is being implemented in three regions of the kingdom namely: Hhohho, Shiselweni and Lubombo region within three communities

About the Grieg gender project, the main goal of the project is to eliminate unhealthy gender concepts (Patriarchy, Sexism, Gender equality, Gender development, Gender mainstreaming and Gender affirmative actions). The project is being implemented in three regions of the kingdom namely: Hhohho, Shiselweni and Lubombo region within three communities, Siphocosini, Mbilaneni and Ka-Langa).
The project’s primary target is adolescents’ girls who are expected to demonstrate the ability to report, talk openly and respond appropriately to issues relating to Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health, Gender-Based Violence and Substance Abuse. Boys as secondary beneficiaries are expected to demonstrate positive behaviours supporting gender equality at the end of the project.
